Congratulations to Alex Ginn, Warners Bay Cricket Club
The Newcastle District Cricket Association, in partnership with Beyond Bank, is proud to recognise Alex as the Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month for December.
Alex currently serves as Club President and Curator, and since stepping into the President’s role in August, he has already made an impact. His leadership has been instrumental in driving positive change across the Club, from taking proactive ideas to council to ensuring every member feels supported and valued.
In addition to his presidency, Alex has taken on the demanding role of Curator – a position he approaches with tireless dedication. He spends countless hours each week preparing and maintaining the pitches, work that has not gone unnoticed, with consistent compliments received on the quality of the wickets. His commitment often sees him at the ground all day: preparing pitches, opening the clubhouse and facilities on Wednesday nights, and staying on to support the women’s teams.
Alex also continues to contribute on the field as a player in Division 3, demonstrating his passion for the game at every level.
This season, Alex introduced FrogBox live-streaming to the Club, creating new opportunities for engagement and development. One of the Club’s juniors has taken on the role of commentator, with Alex always on hand to help set up, troubleshoot, and provide ongoing support – a wonderful example of mentorship and encouragement of the next generation.
Alex truly embodies the spirit of volunteering, and NDCA and Beyond Bank are delighted to recognise him as Volunteer of the Month. Congratulations, and thank you for everything you do for your Club and the wider cricket community.
