Lynn Herring Named 2025/26 NDCA Volunteer of the Year

Newcastle District Cricket Association congratulates Wallsend District Cricket Club’s Lynn Herring, who has been named the 2025/26 NDCA Volunteer of the Year.

Described as the heart and soul of Wallsend DCC, Lynn is a true club all-rounder. She supports both junior and senior cricket, plays in the women’s competition and is a driving force on the club’s committee, leading fundraising initiatives and contributing significantly to Wallsend’s ongoing success.

Lynn’s outstanding service spans more than a decade. She has served on the Wallsend committee for 12 years, including eight years as Secretary, and has also held the positions of Assistant Treasurer and NDCA Women’s Delegate.

Her passion for growing the women’s game led her to establish Wallsend’s women’s team, which she continues to captain.

Whether helping behind the scenes, supporting players or taking on another important task, Lynn is always one of the first to step forward.
