The NDCA congratulates Yusuf Badat from Newcastle City Cricket Club, our Beyond Bank Volunteer of the Month for October!

Yusuf Badat has a long history of volunteering at Newcastle City that continues to this day. After years of service to the junior section of the club (which is ongoing even now, almost a decade since he had any juniors playing), Yusuf joined the senior committee as Club Registrar in 2018-19 and has served in this busy and vital role without a break since then. He was also First Grade scorer for many years and fills in now when required.

Yusuf is one of those volunteers who quietly just gets on with the job without any fuss. As Club Registrar, pre-season is often his busiest time. Taking multiple enquiries from both senior and junior players, he is always prompt and professional in his responses. He willingly assists with all aspects of club life and is always there to lend a hand, particularly in relation to player communication. An example of this was seen earlier this year when he assisted the club in communicating with all players registered in women’s teams to present them with a survey to complete. By using his PlayHQ expertise, Yusuf enhances the overall experience of players, captains, and the club in general.
